About

ABOUT THE POTTED CACTUS

Succulents and cacti are finicky plants, as anyone who has tried to grow them will attest. At The Potted Cactus, we've learned just what it takes to produce high quality potted succulents, to ensure their long-term survival, and to help them thrive.

Our potted succulents and cacti will ease your worries about raising these interesting plants because they're already set! And because they come with clear and easy instructions on how to care for them.

From watering habits to soil requirements to lighting needs, we know that these lovely and intriguing plants can't just be plopped under the harsh sun and left on their own. There's a special mix of growing conditions that's needed to raise these lovely plants.

We raise many of our succulents from seedlings, and then match them to unique planters when they're ready to find new homes. Each one is planted in our special soil, hand-mixed and perfectly suited for succulents.

Each container comes with a drainage hole to ensure healthy roots, and to save the plants from over-watering.

Why? Because we love our plants and want them to survive for a lifetime, even when they're no longer in our care. So take a look at our collection, whether it's a gift for yourself or for someone else, you'll definitely be happy with your new succulent baby.

OUR PROCESS

Our hand-mixed soil ensures healthy roots and a happy plant. It is specifically formulated for succulents and cacti and includes natural ingredients like pumice and pecan shells.

We personally shop for all of our planters, then drill a drainage hole into those that don't have one. This ensures healthy roots and perfect soil conditions for succulents and cacti. Some of our bigger planters may contain recycled water bottles for volume.

Next, we take special care planting the succulent in its new pot. We add a decorative top dressing that serves a few purposes. Aside from adding a pleasing element to the composition, it also serves as a layer that keeps the top portion of the soil from drying out too quickly.

Once the planter is put together, we keep an eye on it for a few weeks to ensure the plants are adjusting well to their new home. That way, they'll be happy in their planters when they get to your home or place of business.
