FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can you mail planters? We cannot ship our lovely creations by mail or courier due to the nature of the product, so only local deliveries are possible.

Do you sell online? We currently only sell at markets and festivals. Please follow us on Facebook, as we create events for each market we will be attending.

I already have a planter. Can you put a plant in it? Absolutely! Please call or send us an email inquiring about this service. Pricing is dependent on the size of the planter and associated soil, plants, topdressing, and labor.

How big are your planters? Planters vary in size and shape, but we group them as best we can depending on the height or length, including the plant most of the time. You can get more information by reviewing our Size Chart which you can access by clicking the View our Size Chart link at the bottom of any page.

Why does every planter have a drainage hole? We understand that many of our plants will remain indoors. However, we want to ensure as long a life as possible for our babies, so we wholeheartedly believe succulents should be grown in planters that include a drainage hole. This ensure that soil will not stay wet for too long. Without a hole, succulents and cacti are much more susceptible to root rot, which can kill them.

Do you create terrariums? Yes, but not traditional ones. Terrariums in general are not good homes for succulents because they offer no drainage. However, we create "modified terrariums" which include a drainage hole and block the soil mix from light using decorative rock and sand. Direct and indirect sunlight can create harmful algae in exposed, moist soil. Any available terrariums will be located in our Terrarium Collection.

Why does my planter have a water bottle in it? Succulents generally have shallow roots. Soil towards the bottom half of taller planters is usually wasted and unnecessary. In addition, recycling water bottles in this manner helps to make the planter lighter and easier to move. The use of water bottles is disclosed in the Our Process section of the About page.

I found hot glue in my planter. What is it for? The topdressing in each planter hides the messier soil mix underneath, as well as serving other purposes such as keeping the top portion of the soil from drying too quickly and keeping bugs out of the mix. We use hot glue to hold down the lowest layer of the rock topdressing to keep it from being displaced when the plant is watered. Sometimes the dried glue will be exposed if too much pressure is used when watering the pot. As indicated on our Succulent Care page, it is important to use a very light stream of water when irrigating the plant.

Can I visit your store or greenhouse? We currently do not have a retail location but do have plans to open one in the future. Our greenhouse contains hundreds of succulent and cactus species but does not currently contain a showroom space. Therefore, all purchases must be completed online or at a market venue, which we hope to frequent.

Will you ever have a workshop or offer a class in potting succulents? This is definitely in our plans, though we do not have workshops at the moment. Please follow us on Facebook or Instagram for any updates!

Do you offer refunds if a plant dies? Plants are healthy and ready for new homes once they leave our greenhouse. Since we cannot control factors beyond our greenhouse walls, refunds are generally not available. However, we'll be happy to consider a refund under extenuating circumstances and may choose to plant a new succulent in the planter instead of issuing a refund. Please call.
